Releases 0.5.0: everything in dev that isn't in main yet.

Changes

  • New apps in the ISO: Thunderbird (COSMIC has no mail app), GNOME Document Scanner (simple-scan), and the firewall's settings app (firewall-config), for opening a port in Kinetic's strict zone without firewall-cmd
  • Developer tools: git-lfs and wtype
  • Version bump: 0.5.0 in scripts/common.sh, kiwi/Kinetic.kiwi, and zypheros-release 44-6 (os-release)
  • Docs: README status, the roadmap's release table and 0.5.0 section, and the app list in docs/decisions.md

The COSMIC shortcut fix (kinetic-cosmic 0.2.0-2) is already in main and published; 0.5.0's ISO is the first to include it.

Checks

  • ./scripts/check-description.sh: image description valid; 2,409 packages resolved; all 50 required present, all 23 exclusions absent
  • ./scripts/build-rpms.sh zypheros-release: builds; os-release reads PRETTY_NAME="ZypherOS Kinetic 0.5.0"
  • Not yet tested on an ISO: the five new apps. They are Fedora packages with no Kinetic configuration

Merging publishes zypheros-release 44-6 through the Packages workflow. Tagging v0.5.0 on main then builds the ISO into a draft release.

Needs two external reviews before merging (from 0.5.0, dev → main goes through a reviewed PR).
